Rebecca Taylor Irwin

(Abt, 1818 - September 7, 1881)

On the 1880 Johnson County, Texas, Rebecca Grissom is shown living with her son, James S. Grisson.

"Martha Jane Wadlington's death certificate states her mother's maiden name was Rebecca F. Snow. I think Snow was Rebecca's name by a second marriage. I have record from White County Tennessee that states Moses S. Grissom married Rebecca T. Irwin 6-12-1839." (Judia Terry 1997)

(NOTE FROM RALPH TERRY: On a "Family Record" sheet written by (or for) James Taylor Cornelius, is shown that Rebecca F. Snow was the mother of Martha Jane (Grissom) Cornelius. Could she have been a Snow and married a Irwin. But then, why would there be Irwin photographs in the family archives? Rebecca T. Grissom's tombstone has the surname of Grissom.)
