Capt. James DeMoss

James DeMoss was born about 1758, died in Davidson County, Tennessee in 1813, and was buried in Flat Creek along with his brother Abraham Lewis. James was also on the first census of the United States in Wilkes County, North Carolina. Land records in North Carolina show he sold his land in 1800 to William Demoss. James married Zana Taylor in Bedford County, Virginia on 15 October 1782, the marriage being performed by William Johnson.
