"Lucy Blackwell Pickett (called Lutie), born November 12, 1854; died February 23, 1890; married December 27, 1882, Hon. Charles H. Patton, of Florence, Alabama, born April 8, 1850; died August 10, 1891. He was educated at the University of Virginia, Eastman's Business College, and Cumberland University; practiced law from 1873 to 1887, when he organized the banking house of Patton & Co.; represented Lauderdale County in the Legislature, 1880 - 82, and proved himself a highly useful member; he was director and secretary of the Synodical Female College, and a liberal supporter of the Presbyterian Church. He was the son of Hon. Robert M. Patton, of "Sweet Water," Lauderdale County, Alabama, who served as the twentieth Governor of Alabama, and his wife, Jane Lock Brahn. Issue [Listed]."
