"Helen Frances Cox Greer married (2) on 3 Dec 1893 Nacogdoches County, Texas to Thomas Jefferson Blacksher born 28 Oct. 1877 Pisgah, Texas and died 7 Feb. 1935, buried Shady Grove Cemetery. Thomas J. Blacksher was (1) married to Emily C. Weaver on 8 Sept. 1875, and they had 7 children. Thomas and Helen Cox Greer Blacksher had 3 children: infant Blacksher born about 1895; Dollie A. born Aug. 1896 Texas; and James F. born March 16 1898 Pisgash, Nacogdoches County, Texas and died Sept. 19, 1968 Houston, Texas, married Pauline Elmer. Thomas L. "Tommy" Blacksher went into the drug store business at Appleby, Nacogdoches County, Texas with Henry Greer, "Blacksher and Greer", and was sold 1 July 1910. Helen F. Cox's father, John R. Cox moved to Texas from Alabama about 1850 and settled in the Shady Grove community near Nacogdoches. He was a circuit riding Methodist Minister who was admitted to the conference Nov. 1859 at Palestine, Texas. He rode horseback over long distances to preach to isolated farm communities."
