"Bessie Hammonds, 12 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elsie Hammonds of Vaden, 20 miles south of Arkadelphia, is in Ross hospital here, critically injured in an accident near her home Sunday morning. She fell from her father's auto truck just as members of the family were leaving home to visit friends. A rear wheel ran over her head, fracturing her skull. She is internally injured also, according to Dr. Ross, in spite of the fact that some of her brain tissue has oozed out through the fracture the girl is conscious at times. The fracture is just above one ear and is a large one. 3-22-1937. (Added to the abstract and handwritten was ,"Died March 23.")"
