Individual Details
Jesse Greer Jr.
(March 22, 1847 - February 17, 1923)
1880 Miller County, Arkansas census.
"After the marriage of Jesse Greer, Jr. and Martha Ann in Bienville Parish, Louisiana, they moved to Texarkana, Arkansas." (Bea O'Quin.)
"Jesse Greer, Jr. moved in a covered wagon from Ringgold, Louisiana to Texarkana, Arkansas in 1877. He was a farmer. He bought land in Arkansas from Mt. Railroad (now Missouri Pacific) for $2.50 per acre. He and his wife are buried southeast of Texarkana in the Greer Cemetery. My mother, Joy Leroy Greer Caddell was born 1-15-1917, Texarkana, Miller County, Arkansas, now age 82 and still very active. My father passed away 3-25-1998 here at Granbury, Texas. I have not actively worked on Greer, but when I was in the 8th grade (1951) I hand copied my Greer, Leverett, Rosenbaum, and Fricks data from my great great grandfather Greer's Bible in the possession of my uncle Martin Leverette Greer, now deceased. Since that time several have sent me data and I have pieced together this family line of Greers." (Information about the family and descendants of Jesse Greer, Jr. was supplied by Bill Caddell, email: bcaddell@hcnews.com>, April 1999.)
