William Lewis Dillon

(Abt, 1786 - August 12, 1849)

1840 Franklin County, Virginia census, page 326: Wm. DILLON age 60-69, his wife 50-59. Others present were a boy 10-14, two boys 15-19, one young man 20-29, one girl 5-9, and one girl 20-29.

"Some early information about the Dillon family is found in The Byrd Family of Franklin County Virginia, with Bradley, Dillon, and Perdue Lines, by Linda B. Nezbeth, published by Gateway Press, Inc., 1001 N. Calvert Street, Baltimore, MD 21202, 1986. Dillon lines are found on pages 16 thru 25, Purdue lines are found on pages 12-14. Although no sources are specified, this book seems to be fairly consistant with the few facts I have on Franklin County Dillons. In my estimate, its Dillon information should be considerd fairly reliable, but checked anyway." (Danny Dillon, 1998.)
