"Harold Sigmon is a graduate of the University of Missouri and a retired U. S. Navy Commander. He spent twenty-seven years as a naval aviator and as he said, "Spent most of my life flying off cariers in the Mediteranean." He feels that his most interesting assignment was the three years with NATO Command Headquarters in Oslo, Norway at which time he and his family "gypsied over Europe and Clara (his wife) even got into Russia ... was there for the 50th Anniversary of the Revolution." Upon Harold's reassignment to the states, he was stationed at the Naval Air Station in Alameda, California where he and Clara, a nurse, are now residing. Harold did not, however, retire from aviation for he is now an aviation instructor-flight crew instructor for World Airways." (ACROSS THE BLUE RIDGE, by Billie Redding Lewis, 1984, pages 61 - 62.)
