(February 1, 1903 - December 12, 1976)

"Mattie Agnes Cantrell, being the oldest daughter, assumed the housekeeping responsibilites, after her mother died, and held the family together for about two years, until her father remarried. Not long after his marriage, Agnes and the older children moved out to their own place and Agnes went to work at the Bell Telephone Company as an operator where she worked for over 45 years, retiring about 1967. At age 34, Agnes married her fifth cousing Curtis G. Cantrell of Carroll County, Tennessee. He was the son of Ernest G. Cantrell and Tillie Crocker. Curtis retired from the US Postal Service and died of complications from surgery on his neck to relieve clogged arteries. Agnes died two years later from a heart condition. They had no children."
