Robert Searcy Greer was listed in the 1860 Federal Census of Marshall County, Mississippi with the named children. His personal property was valued at $ 32,000. and his real property was valued at $ 27,000. Robert had an overseer for his farm and plantation living with him and he was named Angus McAuley, born in North Carolina and listed as being 32 years old. "Robert Searcy Greer, married twice, had no issue by the first wife but numerous ones by his second marriage to Miss Elizabeth Monroe or Hardin of Kentucky. Of all their children only one bearing the name of Greer had issue. His name is Robert Searcy Greer." (THE GREER'S by Judge James Micajah Greer of Memphis, Tennessee, April 1905, page 13.)
"Robert Searcy Greer was born in Robertson County, Tennessee and married (1) Artemia Waite. No Issue. Artemia Waite Greer is also buried in the same cemetery in another family plot.
