Nicholas Hawkins

(1764 - Bef August 26, 1833)

"Parsha "Pasha" (Greer) and Nicholas Hawkins moved to Putnam County, Georgia where Nicholas Hawkin's will, dated 14 May 1828, was probated 26 August 1833. Parsha was not named in the will. Witnesses: James M. Dunn, Joseph Moreland, Ward Hill. Parsha was living in 1825, named in her father's will. (Putnam County, Georgia Will Book B, pages 130-131.) Nicholas married Diannah Cabiness (possibly "Caviness") about 1831, who was the sister of Pasha. A marriage record has not been found, but there is a record in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama where Diannah was living in which Nicholas declared he would not have any claim to estate of her children. Where Nicholas died is not known, but son, Thomas Hawkins, and perhaps others of his children were in Chambers County, Alabama as were Neely McCoy and wife, Nancy, another sister of Pasha and Diannah." (MY GREER LINEAGE by Mary Lee Barnes, 1992, page 42.)
