"A school teacher at Kimball, Charles Rutter's marriage to Dessie so upset her family that he and Dessie moved away. She was not seen by her family until four years later when she accompanied her uncles Matthew Simeon and William Reddick and her grandmother Greer to Arizona. It was said Charles Rutter was murdered in revenge. They had no children. After moving to Arizona in 1879, Dessie briefly taught school in Woodruff before her marriage to Frank Drew. They lived in Woodruff awhile, then ranched cattle north of the Colorado River before moving their operation to Tonto Basin. In 1895 or 1896, they moved to Mesa, Arizona. She died from complications of a fall from her horse, and is buried at Mesa." (Elaine Rummel via William Greer, Illinois, 1995.)
