Henry Boling Stuart

"Henry Boling Stuart was born 26 February 1826 in Georgia. He and his wife Julia A. Hart, also a native of Georgia, emigrated ca. 1848 to Arkansas, where they located in Clark County. Two of Henry's brothers, Isaac "Dock" Stuart and Aquilla Greer Stuart came about the same time, ca. 1849. They were descendants of Alexander Stewart, who was born ca. 1656 in Scotland, and married Mary Bailey, born 10 November 1686, Chester County, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Joel Bailey and Ann Short. Henry B. and Julia had two daughters and three sons: Robert A., Hubbard, John N., Laura (Mrs. J. S. Barkman), and Hortense (Mrs. H. B. Young) of St. Louis.
"A prominent attorney in Arkadelphia, Henry Stuart actively practiced until his death on 19 March 1890 at age sixty-four. He was survived by his wife and children. Judge of the Eighth Judicial District, a Representative of Clark County in the State Legislature (1858 - 59), he was an unsuccessful candidate for Congress at one time. His wife, Julia, born 14 June 1836, died 7 December 1892. Both are buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, Arkadelphia." ("Henry Boling Stuart," an article by Norma S.
