Bertha Crumly Holdridge, a longtime Scurry county resident, died Wednesday May 16, 2007, in Cogdell Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Funeral service for Mrs. Holdridge, 86, is set for 2 p.m. Saturday in the Bell–Cypert-Seale Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Buddy Payne, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will officiate. Mrs. Holdridge donated her body to Texas Tech Health Sciences Center. Born July 14, 1920 in Willard, N.M., she graduated from Hermleigh High School in 1938 and married Jess Raymond Holdridge Sr. on May 14, 1940 in Snyder. He died in September 1969. Mrs. Holdridge was a retired teachers' aide, having worked for the Hermleigh schools for some 12 years. She was a long time member of the Hermleigh United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lelia Burns Crumly: and by seven siblings. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-laws. Janet and Jim Spence of Snyder and Diane and Ted Robbins of Lubbock: a son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Candy Holdridge of Snyder, four grandchildren and their spouses, Tina and Tracy Kelley of Lubbock, Lana and John Bagdasarian of Wylie, Jennifer and Wes Seilhant of Springtown and Brian Spence of Snyder: eight grandchildren, Aaron and April Kelley, Matthew, Charlie and Elianna Bagdasarian, Jayla and Eric Seilhant and Ethan Spence: and numerous nieces and nephews.
