Jess Raymond Holdridge, 59, of Hermleigh, Texas, died at 1:45 PM Monday in Codgell Hospital after a lengthy illness. Funeral will be conducted in Hermleigh at the Hermleigh Methodist Church under the direction of Bolger Funeral Home. The Rev. Claude Nixon, pastor, will officiate assisted by Fred Boatman, Pastor of the Central Baptist Church of Hermleigh. Mr. Holdridge was born March 23, 1910 in Porum, Oklahoma to George and Texie (Nicholson) Holdridge. He married Bertha M Crumly, 4 May 1940 in Snyder, Texas and has lived in Scurry County 45 years. He was employed by Scurry County in precinct 4. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters: Ruth Cross, Reba and Leta Holdridge. Survivors include two daughters; Mrs. Diane (Ted) Robbins of Perryton, TX: Miss Janet Spence of Hermleigh; one son Raymond Holdridge of Hermleigh. Two sisters; Mrs. Lillian (Chester) Dondero of Sacramento, CA; Mrs. Alta Karlstedt of Loomis, CA, one brother, Ides Holdridge of Sweetwater, TX; two granddaughters, Tina and Lana Robbins.
