Kay Dunn Dickerson Woodall was born as the oldest of four daughters of James A. and Virginia Louise McCarty Dunn in Indian Territory of Oklahoma. She lived in Garvin County for much of her life and married and raised her family there. She was an airplane mechanic in WWII. She owned and operated restaurants in Maysville, and Oklahoma City. She was a member of the Baptist church. Her first husband was Thomas Watson Dickerson and together they had two sons, Curtis and Thomas and a daughter, Mary Louise. She later married a Woodall.
