"Funeral services for Reuben T. Hillis, Van Buren county farmer, were held Friday at 2 p.m. at White Hill Chruch of Christ. Marion Thompson officiated and burial was in White Hill cemetery. Mr. Hillis, 72, died at his home in Laurelburg community Thursday at 6:20 a. m. He had been ill three months. He was a native and lifelong resident of Van Buren county, born April 5, 1882. His parents were Jim Hillis and Elizabeth Hillis and he was married to the former Miss Della Roberts, who preceded him in death. Survivors include four sons, Jim Hillis, Laurelburg, Jake, Cleve and B. B. Hillis, Spencer; a daughter, Miss Nora Hillis, Laurelburg, and a sister, Mrs. Nancy Ann Roberts, Laurelburg. High Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements." (Obituary, April 15, 1954.)
