"McMinnville resident and Van Buren County native Albert Clinton Powers, Jr., 68, died unexpectedly April 17 at River Park Hospital. A timber worker and a member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of Versa Roberts Powers of McMinnville and the late Albert C. Powers Sr.; and was preceded in death by grandson, Richard Alan Killian; brother, Oscar Leonard Powers; and sister, Juanita McBride. He is survived his wife, Winona Boyd Powers; one daughter, Wanda Gail Powell of McMinnville; son-in-law, James (Mousie) Powell of McMinnville; two brothers, Jim and Daries (Peanut) Powers, both of Bone Cave; two sisters, Sue Sparkman and Bobbie Jo Mason, both of McMinnville; several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at High’s Chapel with Jim Gammon officiating. Burial will follow at Smyrna Cemetery. Visitation began Saturday at High’s.
