"McMinnville resident and Van Buren County native Versa Jane Powers, 88, died July 9 at NHC Healthcare after an extended illness. A homemaker, she was the daughter of A.E. Bidge and Nancy Ann Hillis Roberts; and was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Clinton Powers Sr. in 1967; one daughter, Juanita McBride; two sons, Oscar (Bud) Powers and Albert Clinton Powers Jr.; one grandson, David Powers; and one great-grandson, Richard Killian. She is survived by two daughters, Susie Sparkman and Bobbie Jo Mason, both of McMinnville; two sons, Jim Walter and Daries Powers, both of Bone Cave; two sisters, Martha Ann Bouldin of Bone Cave and Larcena Roark of McMinnville; one brother, Ed Roberts of Eaton, Ohio; eight grandson, two granddaughters, 11 great-grandchildren, one step-granddaughter and five step-great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 3 p.m. today at High's Chapel with Marion Ward officiating. Burial will follow at White Hill Cemetery in Van Buren County. High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements."
