Robert Carl Hitchcock

"Rock Island resident and Warren County native Robert Carl Hitchcock, 71, died Dec. 12 at River Park Hospital after an extended illness. A retired farmer and member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of Horace and Electa George Hitchcock and was preceded in death by one brother, Houston Hitchcock and one sister, Winona Sellars. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Hale Hitchcock; four daughters, La Juana Palk of Sparta, Kathy Mathis of Lascasas, Carla Pope of Springfield and Julie Bohannon of Monterey; one son, Steve Hitchcock of Rock Island; seven brothers, Olney Hitchcock of the Hillsville community, Euclid Hitchcock of Nelsonville, Ohio, Alvin Hitchcock of Carthage, Carson, Randle and Buford of Rock Island and Kenny Hitchcock of McMinnville; 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services were held Wednesday at High's Chapel with Bill Weaver and Danny Ninck officiating. Burial followed at Gath Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to CHrist Church in care of Bill Weaver, Box 605, McMinnville. High Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements."
