"C. Garnett has been appointed a national bank examiner by the Comptroller of the Currency. Mr. Greear, who attended Farmville High School, Fork Union Military Academy, and Hampden-Sydney College, graduated for the American Institute of Banking in Washington, D. C. Formerly he was employed by the American Security and Trust Co., in Washington, D. C. and the Prince George Bank and trust Co., in Hyattsville, Maryland. He was appointed assistant national bank examiner in 1941. During the war, Mr. Greear served four years in the Finance Department of the United States Army, with two years in the European theater of operations." (Kingsport newspaper, 1950.)
