"Martin Pickett, the youngest child of James Pickett and Martha, was born in 1782, and died in 1835. He was twice married, first to Nancy Raiford, born in 1789, died 1823. To this union were born two daughters, Frances DeJarnette Pickett, born June 26 1812, died 1881; and Ellen Pickett, born 1814, died 1873, married General Atlas Dargan. Martin Pickett married the second time Mrs. Winnie Ingram Smith, widow of Louis Smith. To this union were born two daughters and one son, as follows: Sarah Eliza, who married Dr. Albert Absolem Myers; Martha Pickett, who married Thomas W. Kendall, of Anson County, and William Pickett, born 1834, died September 11, 1902. He was married first to Mary Jarrett and they had one son, Joseph Jarrett, who moved to Texas and never returned. William Martin Pickett married second, Virginia Barrett, but had no children." ("James Pickett, Anson Patriot" by Grady R.
