Judge William B. Newman (in "Gleanings of Virginia History, p. 281) states that John Newman died intestate in 1759, and that he left three children: George (a minor in 1733), John and Thomas. He says that son John married Elizabeth Deane, daughter of John, of Richmond co., and moved to Prince William co. abt 1760. Further, he states that son Thomas, is believed to have moved to York co., VA where he was clerk of the courts and deputy sheriff after the Revolution. His is mentioned in the will of his brother, Geroge.

Children identified in estate administration documents are John, Leroy, Thomas, and James. Another son, George, had died in 1734.

Sons of both Rev. John Newman and Leroy Newman, Sr. are found in Kanawha/Cabell County, Virginia (WV) 1801-1806.
