"Estherlene "Jackie" Griffith, 91, of Coleman died Thursday, April 6, 2006 at Holiday Hill Nursing Home. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 9, 2006 at the Elm Street Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home. Family visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. She was born Estherlene Elizabeth Lancaster on May 24, 1914 in Jarral, Texas, the daughter of William Thomas Lancaster and Mary Lenora Milam Lancaster. She grew up in Brown and Coleman Counties and graduated from Buffalo school. She married Odie Griffith on December 4, 1932 in Brownwood. She was a farmer and a housewife and a member of the Elm Street Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband, Odie Griffith of Coleman; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Wesley Dority of Lake Brownwood; two grandchildren, Doyle Dority and wife Liz, of Princeton, Texas, Denise Dority of Lake Brownwood; four great-grandchildren, Derek Dority and wife Candace, of Farmersville, Texas, Dillon Dority, Megan Dority and Sean Dority all of Princeton, Texas and several nieces and nephews.
