"Mae Griffith lost her first husband during World War I. She married Emmett Eason the first time in 1923. They divorced and remarried five or six times, or as Emmett put it, "all the law would allow." Mae possibly married one or two other times between the times she was married to Emmett. Her death certificate certificate says she was born in 1902, but this is wrong as per the fact the she was born after her father died and before the 1900 census. Her social security number was 461-30-9377A. She had no children from either marriage." (Information from an interview by Ralph Terry with Emmitt Eason in 1976 and Tom Green County Records. Emmitt was living at the Care-Inn Nursing Home on 19th Street in San Angelo, Texas in 1976; the people who he had lived with, before moving to the nursing home, were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Flippo (I think), who lived at 1402 Preusser, San Angelo, Texas, 915-655-9972.)
