"Peter Kemper was a Captain in the Revolutionary Army, buried at Spring Grove, Sec 38, lot 9. Peter Kemper and Isabella Nicholls married either 3 April or 23 May 1767." (GENEALOGY OF THE KEMPER FAMILY by Willis Miller Kemper, 1899, page 64.)

The bodies of the family located in the cemetery at Walnut Hills were moved June 14, 1864 to Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio. These moves were made by L. Maffey and Company, Undertakers on the orders of Samuel Kemper, to Section 38, Lot 9, owned by Stephen Kemper.
