Johann Jacob Kinser

(Abt, 1720 - Abt, 1775)

(NOTE FROM RALPH TERRY: Some researchers show Jacob Kinser as Jacob Koontz.)

Much of the information of the descendants of the Kinser - Newman line was taken from My German (English/Irish) Ancestors V (Kincer, Kinser, etc. and Allied Family - Newman) by Clifford R. Canfield.

"On December 14, 1774, Jacob Kinser had about 454 acres of land surveyed on Tates Run. He and his family must have lived there until his death in 1775 or early in 1776. Jacob died without a will and there seems to be no record of an estate settlement. However, in 1832 when Jacob's daughter-in-law (Michael's wife), Elizabeth, and her children, sold 100 acres of land to Curtis Grubb. The records show that this land was part of the 454 acres surveyed for Jacob in 1774 (Wythe County Deed Book, 12, page 320). Anna Kinser was probably the "old Kinzer woman" who died or was buried on February 2, 1803." (Clifford R. Canfield.)
