"Susan Greer (Susie as her headstone reads) was born December 22, 1873 and died March 8, 1955. She is also buried in the family cemetery on Horse Creek, and I have a picture of her headstone. Susan had 3 children - D. Albert, Lila, and Stephen. We found Stephen's headstone in the cemetery, but it is pretty weathered. We are unsure of the spelling of his name and don't know death and birth dates. We could make out an inscription that read "Son of Susie Greer."
"Albert is my husbands great-grandfather. We do not know who Albert's father was (or any of Susie's children for that matter). She alway lived with her mother Nancy. We know this though census records and information from my father-in-law. He was raised by his grandparents, and they lived next to Nancy and Susie. Albert was born on December 15, 1893 and died on February 20, 1996. His wife Lela (Vannoy) Greer was born on March 21, 1891 and died on January 17, 1984. They are both also buried in the family cemetery in Horse Creek. I don't have all of their children's names, yet, but I am working on it." (Kim (Lenick) Greer, August 2001.)
