"Mrs. Zanie Winstead, wife of Geo. C. Winstead, died Sunday, August 24, five miles east of Coleman at the age of thirty-five years, eleven months. She was born in Hancock County, Tennessee, September 20, 1883. Deceased is survived by her husband and three young sons, her parents, all of whom were present at her last illness. Interment was made Monday, five o'clock p.m. in Coleman cemetery. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. William Trent of Oklahoma. A host of friends extend sympathy to the stricken husband and other relatives in their bereavement." (Coleman Democrat-Voice, Coleman, Texas, August 29, 1919.)
(NOTE FROM RALPH TERRY: I have noted some researchers have added a second husband to Zanie Winstead. According to her obituary, she was married to George Winstead at her death, therefore, she would have been married to George Murrell for a short time in Hancock County, Tennessee, before her marriage to George Winstead.)
