Ada C. Cantrell

(February 20, 1882 - May 19, 1965)

"In 1908, Ada Cantrell visited her sister, Melissa Didema (Cantrell) Vance, who lived on a farm nine miles northwest of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. William Conley owned the farm, and he lived on the farm with John Edgar and Melissa Didema Vance. A romance developed, and Ada and William were married within a few months. They lived on that farm for a number of years. The Edmonton International Airport is now located on (what was then) the William Conley farm. In 1948, they moved Vancover, British Columbia. In June 1959, Ada attended the wedding of her grandson in Toronto, Canada, and she visited in the home of the compiler of this sketch after the wedding. Ada had not been in the United States for fifty years." (CANTRELL-CANTRILL by Horace Elbert Cantrell, 1972, page 75)
