Individual Details
(August 7, 1864 - April 4, 1911)
"In 1899 Charles Faulkner and Mattie left Virginia and went to Taneyville, Missouri and from there two years later to Alva, Oklahoma. He established a store and a post office on his homestead 24 miles from Alva. The post office was named Faulkner, Oklahoma. He later built a home at Alva, where he died. He was buried in the IOOF Cemetery at Alva. The mother of Charles Faulkner, was a cousin of Martha Howell who married John Graybeal. John Graybeal's daughter Sarah Jane Graybeal married John Calvin Greear. (NOTE FROM RALPH TERRY: I have entered Drucilla Howell and Martha Howell in these records as first cousins, but this could be in error.) Charles Faulker was in the Oklahoma legislature from about 1905 to 1911, according to Jim McGlothlin." (Lois Temple FGS 320)
