John Line Templer
(Bef 17 Sep 1828 - Abt Mar 1886)
John Line was the third member of the family to be born at Ermington in 1828. He was still living at home at Tor Hill Cottage, unmarried, in 185l. The Census of that year does not indicate any occupation. We can therefore assume that, with his father a Landed Proprietor and Annuitant, and his brother-in-law a R.N. Paymaster and Purser on half pay, and all at Tor Hill Cottage, life for the Templers at Ugborough must have been of comparative ease and comfort.
