MARGARET BEATTY DIED IN HOSPITAL
Mrs. Margaret Beatty, 87, of 507 South Lincoln avenue, died yesterday at 5:30 p.m. at St. John's hospital, following a weeks illness. Mrs. Beatty was taken to the hospital Sunday afternoon and died shortly afterwards.
She was born in Jerseyville, Oct. 10, 1859, and was the widow of Walter R. Beatty, who died Sept. 27, 1923. Mr. Beatty was a former conductor on the Alton railroad.
Mrs. Beatty had been a resident of Springfield for the last 48 years. She resided at 714 West Canedy street for many years.
She is survived by two daughters, Miss Ruth A. Beatty and Mrs. Grace Maurer, both of city, and one granddaughter, Mrs. Virginia Watt.
