FLORENCE HOLDEN-SODA SPRINGS
Florence Marie Cross Holden, 74, of Soda Springs, died Monday morning March 4, at the Bannock Geriatric Center in Pocatello.
She was born Oct. 19, 1916, at Soda Springs the daughter of Daniel and Louise Ivory Cross.
She was married to William Van Holden on Oct. 2, 1935, at Logan, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized on Feb. 18, 1966. Mr. Holden passed away Jan. 25, 1973.
She was raised and educated in Soda Springs.
She was a member of the Soda Springs LDS Third Ward. She had served as a Primary teacher, visiting teacher, and visiting teacher supervisor. She was an accomplished quilter and crocheter. She enjoyed her family and friends, and found great joy in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by one son, Eugene and Carol Holden, both of Cameron, Mont., and one son-in-law and daugher, Paul and Audrey Hatch, both of Bancroft; also six grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Walter (Catherine) Moore, Soda Springs, and Mrs. Grant (Ada) Williams of Grace; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeeded in death by her parents; three brothers, Bill, Ted and Ralph; two sisters, June Pasco Cooper, and Ethel Caress; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, March 7, at the Soda Springs LDS Stake Center at noon, with Bishop Redge Balls officiating. Friends may call at the Allen-Sims funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. and at the stake center on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Soda Springs.
