There are few records to tell us anything about Ashley Sloan. One record is an inventory of his estate by Thomas Black Sloan and T.A. Heard dated April 20, 1863. His name appears in a court record when he is named as a road overseer January 15, 1851. In April 1854 he is shown in a case of the State vs. Ashley Sloan to collect fees for disturbing worship. His name appears as a juror in a case of murder, State vs Charles Gollihar October 12, 1853. A Clark County, Arkansas record: Ashley L. Sloan died intestate 1862, Thomas B. Sloan Admin.
