Anna Isabella "Ibby" Kilgore

Isabel Kilgore GREER's Last Will and Testament (died 10 July 1858) presented for probate on 7 August 1858, says that her children are: Robert D. GREER, Josiah GREER (State Senator), Benjamin GREER (deceased), Harriett M. RANDAL, John GREER, Jane BLUNDELL (deceased), Sally SNOWDEN (deceased), Joseph GREER, William GREER, James Madison GREER, Margaret COOK, Patsy MAYFIELD, Lucinda MOON, and Henry GREER. In her Will, Isabel also names her grandson - James M. GREER (son of John GREER) - whom I believe is James Manning GREER - the farmer who sold his land for the railroad station in GREER (which is why it was called Greer's Station). Isabel's estate papers, which are very interesting by the way, state that Isabel had 14 children. Of interest - specifically testified to at the hearing to prove her will - Col. T. P. Brockman testified that Isabel's son "...Ben was her favorite to his death, he had an equal share of her estate in other will...she fell out with Josiah (Isabel alleged in one of her Wills that Josiah had abused her in her own house) on account of some difficulty...she was old and whimsical...etc."
