The Rucker Family Cemetery was a smallpox cemetery. On a day in February, 1882 Mr. Evans got off the train in Albany, travel worn and ill. Mr. Weldon L. Rucker took him home with him. The next morning it became evident that he had smallpox. He died shortly after. He was buried in the small cemetery on the family land. The Rucker family all died from the small pox a few weeks later and are buried in the Rucker family Cemetery. The Rucker house with all its contents was burned to prevent further spreed of the disease. (Info from Old Time and Jo Ann Farmer).
