Individual Details

Miriam Sales

(1646 - 1 May 1722)

IT IS UNCERTAIN WHETHER MIRIAM IS THE DAUGHTER OF MARGARET OR REBECCA SALE.
Note: Bowen gave 1629 instead of 1639 as did William S. Carpenter. Torrey indicated she may have died at age 76, which would result in birth year of 1646. If she died at age 93, she would have been born in 1629.
Note: William and Mariam had children Josiah, Nathaniel, Daniel, Noah, Mariam, Obadiah, Ellphriam, Hannah and Abigail between 1664 and 1684.
The latter Abigail married a Daniel Perrin. One source gave 10 Dec 1663.

Daughter of Edward Searle/Sale of Rehoboth.
Though Edward's first wife Margaret ____ Searle/Sale could have been the mother of several children, her banishment for adultery makes it unlikely, and it is more likely that Edward's second wife Rebecca, who died in 1664, was the mother of most children, including Miriam. See Great Migration, Volume 6, pp. 142-3.

Second wife of William Carpenter, married at Rehoboth on Feb 10, 1663/4.

Children (by second marriage): Josiah Carpenter, Nathaniel Carpenter, Daniel Carpenter, Noah Carpenter, Miriam Carpenter Bliss, Obadiah Carpenter, Ephraim Carpenter, Hannah Carpenter Chaffee, and Abigail Carpenter Perrin.
