William Henry Latimer

Born to Samuel Jackson Latimer (1795-1873) & Nancy Bottoms Latimer (1797-1885). William was a twin to his brother, Jacob Lasley Latimer, one of two sets of twins born to his parents.
William married Mary Elizabeth Price (1837-1912) on April 25, 1861 in Dallas County, Missouri. Their children also include two sets of twins. The family moved to McLennan County, Texas, from Missouri in 1876. Two years later, they moved to Hill County.

William Henry Latimer of Hill County was born in Washington County (Note: should be Webster County), Missouri, March 24 (Note: should be 25), 1838, a son of Samuel and Nancy Latimer, natives of Kentucky. The parents moved to Missouri in 1818, where father died in 1875, age 80 years, and the mother in 1885, aged 88 years.
They had six children, Samuel, who was engaged in practice of medicine in Missouri; Margaret, wife of Abram Shook, a farmer of Anson, Jones County, Texas; Martha, of Webster County, Mo., William Henry, our subject; Leslie, who resides at old homestead in Missouri; and Matilda, who died in McLennan County, Texas, March 1883, wife of William Shook.
Our subject came to McLennan County, Texas, in 1876 and in 1879 moved to Hill County. He married in 1861 in Dallas County, Missouri, Miss Mary Price, born Dec. 28, 1837, a daughter of John H. and Mary Price, natives of N.C. and Tenn. Her parents moved to Dallas County, Missouri, in 1853 where the father died Aug. 31, 1866 at age of 54 years and the mother June 3, 1885 (Note: should be 1875), aged 60 years.
William Henry and Mary Latimer were parents of seven children: John W. and Samuel W., twins, were born Jan. 7, 1862, the former a farmer in Hill Co., and the latter a carpenter in Waco; William J., born July 12, 1864, a farmer of Hill Co.,; Sarah A. born April 24, 1867, is wife of Samuel Ferguson; Etta L., Eddy F., born Oct. 3, 1872, are at home, and Charles, born March 1, 1879.
