Sweeney Doehring Jr. was a graduate of Kinkaid High Scool in 1958, a college graduate, BBA, at the University of Houston in 1962.
SWEENEY JAMISON DOEHRING, JR. born June 1, 1940 passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2000. Sweeney attended the University of Houston where he received a BA degree in Economics. He went on to graduate from University of Houston Law School. He served in the Reserves for the Harris County Sheriff's Office. He was a partner in Doehring & Doehring Law firm. Sweeney was very active in the community and served on numerous Home Association Boards. Sweeney loved his labrador retrievers, boating on Lake Travis and his family. Sweeney was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed by many. Survivors include his wife, Sally Walston Doehring; son, Sweeney Jamison Doehring III and Marla of Katy, Texas; daughter, Cynthia Doehring Kellum and John of Houston; son, Lee Etter Doehring and Shelby of Houston; grandchildren, Ashley Elizabeth Kellum, John Reeve Kellum III, Sweeney Jamison Doehring IV, Sarah Ackermann Doehring, Lee Etter Doehring, Jr., and Alexandra Jeannine Doehring; brothers, Richard Lee Doehring and Dan Etter Doehring, both of Houston; sister, Ann Doehring Krenek of Eugene, Oregon and numerous other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home at 1508 East Avenue in Katy, Texas. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Schmidt Funeral Home with a private burial to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Austin - SPCA at 124 West Anderson Lane, Austin, TX 78752 Attention: Development.
