Betty J. Lewis, 89, Belleville, formerly of Altoona, died Tuesday at Valley View Haven.She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Chester Rooney and Pearl Rooney Mutzabaugh Logue. She was raised by her grandparents, the late Alfred and Anna Mutzabaugh, formerly of Altoona. She married W. Fay "Butch" Lewis, who died July 12, 1994. Surviving are her stepson, David F. Lewis and wife, Joyce, of York; six stepgrandchildren; 17 stepgreat-grandchildren; and seven stepgreat-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her stepdaughter, Barbara Lewis Dunn, formerly of Altoona.Early in life, Betty was a beautician in Altoona. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Lewistown, the Helping Hands Sunday school class, Ladies' Auxiliary, and the Order of the Eastern Star, Altair Chapter. She attended Watts United Methodist Church, Belleville, for the past several years.Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010, and 9 to the 10 a.m. funeral service Friday, Aug. 20, 2010, at Baggus Funeral Home, Belleville, the Rev. Karen McCachren and Pastor Doug Pierce officiating. Burial will take place at Carson Valley Cemetery. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 200 E.
