Graveside services for Roy Lee Hester, 58, of Zavalla were held Friday, March 19, 2010 in the Zavalla Cemetery.
Mr. Hester was born February 26, 1951 in San Augustine, Texas to the late Mary Helen (Martin) and Roy Bill Hester, and died Monday, March 15, 2010 in a local nursing home.
Mr. Hester was a lifetime resident of Angelina County. He retired from the Texas Highway Department and was a member of the Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church in Zavalla.
Survivors include his son, Randy Keith Hester of Zavalla; stepsons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Patti Evans, Wayne and Jackie Evans, Timmy and Tammy Francis and Jimmy and Debbie Francis; stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Kay and Thurman Hester and Anissa and Mitchell Parrott; 17 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Jane Lee of Central; brothers and sisters-in-law, Thurman and Kay Hester of Hudson and Cecil and Kathy Hester of Huntington; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Hester preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ann Hester.
