Greer - Fred Laney Taylor, 93, of 1795 E. Poinsett St., died April 5, 1994, at his home.
A native of Chesterfield County, he was the husband of Myrtle Babb Taylor and son of the late James M. and Harriett Pigg Taylor. He was a member of Duncan First Baptist Church and was a self employed carpenter.
Also surviving are five daughters, Doris Smith of Summerville. Jean Morgan of Lyman, Geraldine Stephens, Betty Morrow of Woodruff, and Daphine Reeves of Greer; two sisters, Bessie Jordan and Minnie Bramlett of Rock Hill; a half sister Barbara Lane of Fort Mill; 17 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 tonight at the Wood Mortuary. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the mortuary chapel by the Rev. Roger Clark. Burial will be in Wood Memorial Park.
