BOWIE �?Velma Lee (Kee) Moore, 92, died on Dec. 29, 2021 in Bowie.
A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. on Jan. 7 at Crestview Memorial Park Cemetery in Wichita Falls. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Jan. 6 at the White Family Funeral Home in Bowie.
Moore was born in Electra, TX on Oct. 25, 1929 to William Earl Kee and Sussie Isabelle (Breedlove) Kee. She graduated from Electra High School and attended Midwestern State University where she received a bachelor's degree in elementary education. She taught fifth grade math in Midway and Bowie for 20 years.
She married Jimmy Moore, in 1952 and they had three children. Velma was an active and faithful member of Bowie Church of the Nazarene for almost 50 years where she taught Sunday school and served as church treasurer, missionary president and music director playing the piano during worship service.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Jimmy Gordon Moore.
Survivors include her three children, James Moore, Wichita Falls, Jane Bohac, Gainesville, and Judy Kirk, Bowie; sister, Lois Moore, Wichita Falls; brother, John Kee, Irving; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bowie Church of the Nazarene at 1109 Garlington Street Bowie, TX 76230 or Solaris Hospice at 800 Lindsey Street. Bowie, TX 76230 or any charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home of Bowie, Texas.
