Frank H. Blount age 79 of Durand, MI passed away Monday, March 24, 2014 at Memorial Healthcare Center. Family will recieve friends from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes of Durand. There is no memorial service set at this time.
Frank was born February 17, 1935 in Durand, MI a son of Wilbur and Mildred (Ritter) Blount. On June 27, 1953 he was married to Romaine Benear. They were married for 60 years when she preceded him in death in 2013. Frank was a little league and pony league baseball coach for 10 years. He enjoyed playing the piano but his greatest joy was his wife and family. Prior to his retirement in 2004 he owned and operated Frank's Service Station for over 50 years. He also worked and owned the family farm that meant so much to him because it had been in the family for generations.
Frank is survived by his children, Michael D. (Beth) Blount, Debra K. (Jeremy) Vik, Curtis E. (Teresa) Blount and Janine M. (E.J.) Anderson; grandchildren, Mark, Jenni, Laura, Nicholas, Jessica and Jared; great grandchildren, Ashton, Boston, Joshua and Kailey; brother, Robert Blount; sister, Mary Lou Granger and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Romaine; both of his parents; great grandson, Jackson and sisters, Helen, Erma, Elaine and Doris.
