Otis Wayne Gurnsey

Otis Wayne Gurnsey, age 75, of Rison went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, April 7, 2020.
He was born July 13, 1944 to the late Herman and Gladys Gurnsey.
He graduated from Sparkman High School where he won the state championship in basketball and volleyball, he was an avid sportsman coaching and playing baseball and softball. He was also enjoyed turkey hunting and was a member of Bethel #1 Missionary Baptist Church.
Mr. Gurnsey owned and operated Gurnsey Hardware in Rison and K&W Insulation, he also retired from Union Pacific Railroad.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Michael Wayne Gurnsey, and one brother Paul Gurnsey.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Carolyn Gurnsey, grandsons, Devin Gurnsey and wife Lauren, Brandon Gurnsey and wife Lexi, one great-granddaughter Alaina Gurnsey, one great-grandson on the way Griffin Wayne Gurnsey, siblings, Lou Carter, Ann Gurnsey, Jim Gurnsey, and David Gurnsey.
Pallbearers will be Mike Cash, Freddie Pierce, James Wilson, Jerry Gates. Clinton Rauls, Billy Rex Morrison, Lee Allred with David Davis and Bobby Tucker as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Wilson Cemetery Association 990 White Oak Bluff Road, Rison, AR 71665, or Bethel #1 Missionary Baptist Church PO Box 370 Rison, AR 71665.
Viewing hours will be from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2020 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 10, 2020 at Wilson Cemetery in Rison with Bro. John Fulmer officiating.
