Mary Catherine Henry

Mary Catherine Henry Chennault, age 64 of Nevada, TX, and a former resident of Edgewood, TX, passed away August 1, 2016. Born to William Herman Henry and Lyda Ruth (Horton) Henry on October 14, 1951, Catherine spent her childhood years in Walker and Hunt Counties creating many fond memories with her grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, and cousins.
In January of 1973, she married Jimmy Chennault with whom she enjoyed 43 years of love and devotion raising their three children in Henderson, Wylie, and Edgewood, TX. Catherine and Jim truly delighted in the presence of their seven grandchildren who will forever know them affectionately as Nana and Papa.
Catherine was a woman of many talents and interests. She was an avid gardener and a supremely gifted cook who also enjoyed outdoor activities such as fishing or rock hunting in the mountains of Colorado. “Aunt Caci”—as she was known by her nieces and nephews—was a very caring and honest person; she was a hard worker who took enormous pride and pleasure in welcoming people into her lovely home where exceptional food and lively conversation were always found in abundance.
She is survived by her husband; daughter: Mellisa Bird and husband Charles of Allen, TX; daughter: Sarah Andrews and husband Jeremy of Longview, TX; son: James Chennault and wife Carrie of Rockwall, TX; and grandchildren: Alex, James, Caroline, Olivia, Andie, Adrian, Lincoln, Tyler, Victoria and Braden.
Catherine is also survived by her sister Nancy Oliver and husband Jimmy of Huntsville, TX; sisters: Sharon Willaby and Barbara Williams of Nevada, TX; sister-in-law: Sheila (Chennault) Milstead and husband Jack of Tatum, TX; and sister-in-law: Chris (Brummit Henry) Sivcoski of New Waverly, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother; Raymond Henry; mother- and father-in-law: Margie and Herman Chennault; and nephew: Ron Purdy.
Funeral services will be officiated by Gene Knauss at 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 4, 2016, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 5320 Miles Road, Sachse, TX. Interment will follow thereafter in Rest Haven Memorial Park, Rockwall, TX. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Chapel from 6:00-8:00 PM.
