Obituary for Jimmy Craig Chennault
Jimmy Craig Chennault, age 71 of Dallas, TX, and a former resident of Edgewood, TX, passed away October 20, 2020. He was born to Herman Henry and Margie Dell (Watson) Chennault on July 29, 1949. Jimmy spent his childhood years in Texas, Arkansas, and California creating many fond memories with his grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, and cousins. Jim’s family eventually settled in Royse City, Texas, where Jim graduated high school in 1968 and met a young lady named Catherine Henry.
In January of 1973, he and Catherine were married and subsequently enjoyed 43 years of love and devotion raising their three children in Henderson, Wylie, and Edgewood, TX. Jim and Catherine truly delighted in the presence of their grandchildren who will forever know them affectionately as Nana and Papa. Jim was a very talented man who enjoyed many pursuits and interests throughout his life. He was a skilled woodworker and electrician as well as an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, and just simply being in nature. Jim and Catherine also were passionate travelers whether it was with the whole Chennault/Milstead clan in his parents’ motor home, excursions with their kids and later grandkids, or simply by themselves later in life.
Jim is survived by his daughter: Mellisa Bird and husband Charles of Allen, TX; son: James Chennault and wife Carrie of Rockwall, TX; grandchildren: Alex, James, Caroline, Olivia, Andie, Adrian, Lincoln, and Henry; and great-grandson Hayden; sisters: Sheila (Chennault) Milstead and husband Jack of Tatum, TX, Suzie (Chennault) Knox and husband James of Mesquite, TX; and brother: Gary Chennault of Berryville, AR.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 28, 2020, at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home- Rockwall Location. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 27, 2020 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at The Gathering at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Location.
