Harold M. Blakeney, 60, of Laurel, died Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Roy Crouch, III will officiate. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Thursday.
Mr. Blakeney was a draftsman with Howard Industries and was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World and the Pioneer Wood Carvers.
He was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Blakeney, parents, Earl B. and Gladys McKinley Blakeney; brother, Tony Blakeney; three nieces and one nephew.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Buckelew Blakeney of Laurel; son, Eric S. Blakeney and wife Jackie of Summerdale, Ala.; daughter, Kali Blakeney of Laurel; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Blakeney, Levi Stephenson, Austin Barnett and Jacob Wells; three brothers, Roy Blakeney and wife Grace of Laurel, Charles Blakeney and wife Nancy of Gulfport and Mack Blakeney and wife Rustye of Laurel; three sisters, Betty Moss and husband J. B. of Ovett, Bobbye Hartman of Semmes, Ala., and Louise Ford of Mobile, Ala.
Close friends and family members will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2 at Memory Chapel which is in charge of the arrangements.
