GLADYS M. GREENFIELD JOHNSON, 90 ROCKTON - Gladys M. Greenfield Johnson, 90, of Rockton died peacefully at 10:15 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2011, in North Pointe Terrace, surrounded by her loving family. Born Nov. 15, 1920, in Oregon, Wis., the daughter of Marvin and Lillian (Christiansen) Haynes. Married Harland E. Greenfield in Beloit, Wis.; he died in 1965. She then married Charles E. Johnson in Rockton. After Harland died, she worked in the kitchen at Kinnikinnick Grade School and then did volunteer work at Beloit Memorial Hospital. Member of Old Stone United Church of Christ and a charter member of Roscoe Credo Club. Former member of the PTA and was active in many of the children's school activities. She loved playing cards with friends and her lake property. Charles' pet name for her was "Cookie." Survivors include sons, Edwin (Sharon) Greenfield of Marathon, Fla., and Bob (Sheri) Greenfield of Rockton; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great- great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Bob McCartney of Rockton; daughter-in-law, Linda Greenfield of Roscoe; sister, Ruth (Steve) Carlson of Beloit, Wis.; brother, Bud (Addie) Haynes of Roscoe; and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents; both husbands; son, Gary; daughter, Judy; grandson, Jonah; two sisters; and two brothers. Memorial ceremonies at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 21, in Old Stone United Church of Christ, 101 E. Union St., Rockton, with visitation from 10 a.m. to time of service; Pastor Dan Herman will officiate and Ed Greenfield will co-officiate. Final resting place in Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens, South Beloit. McCorkle Funeral Home, 767 N. Blackhawk Blvd., Rockton, assisted the family.
